Hello, All! We made it through 2025. It was an amazing and difficult year, and I know I'm not alone in that feeling. I want to thank all of our customers this year, you made such a difference and it was great to meet each and everyone of you. We hope to see you back in 2026 and are excited about all the things to come in the shop.
As you may have read/seen/heard, the Lloyd Center Mall is planning to close sometime in 2026, but there are no clear timelines and there is the potential to keep Lloyd alive. The Save Lloyd campaign is running strong and currently has over 3,600 signatures. dicepool is planning on staying as long as they will let us and growing the shop to bursting. Read more on the proposal here. If you want to send it a response, you have until January 22nd.
We did some really cool things last year, including stocking local whenever possible. We brought in a ton of solo RPGs and smaller system-agnostic RPG supplements. We expanded our dice selection to include things like, ten D10 sets, mystery dice, and more local designers. We greatly expanded our mini-prints and terrain selections, and added a bunch of paint supplies. We keep tailoring our board games so we have a great selection of styles and play times. Finally, we added a number of soft goods from Little Baby Chicken Head, things like pennants, pins, and geeky earrings.
We started an RPG Book Club that takes place in the shop on the third Tuesday of the month from 5-7pm. I am looking forward to our January choice, Anamnesis, as it is the first solo that uses a tarot deck as a game builder mechanic. Anamnesis is a solo adventure where you journal about identity, reflection, and self-discovery. In the game, you have lost your memories and are using the prompts to recall your past and learn about our present. Our previous pics were: October, Carved by the Garden; November, Exclusion Zone Botanist; December, In Ruins. The book club discussions have been really interesting, with tons of process conversation, editorial suggestions, and sharing examples of individual game play. When we chatted about In Ruins, everyone got to show off their finished maps. I am looking forward to the 2026 book selections and would be interested in what you all want to explore.
On to the new year! We made it through 2025 and are looking forward to new things. Some of the fun things that we plan on for the shop are to continue expanding all of our product lines and bringing in new vendors. We are planning on boothing at local markets and conventions this year to get the word out more and see new people in person. We are going to continue our book club and might add a second session or a game playthrough session as needed. We are continuing our paint nights on Thursday, and are hoping to get more folks in for Trench Crusade on Wednesday. We are now carrying official Trench Crusade minis! We are moving things around in the shop, so it is easier to find some of the smaller items and to create more display areas. If/when Lloyd Center closes, we will be moving to a new location and we have some really fun plans for that possibility.
We are excited to see what this new year has for us and we hope to see you in the shop soon!
